About

The Lincoln Park Neighborhood Watch Program began in the early 1990’s in response to high levels of crime. Through the work of two full-time Community Policing Officers dedicated to the program, dozens of blocks participated by being the Lincoln Park Police Department’s “eyes and ears.”

Unfortunately, as a result to budget cuts, the program began to experience significant decline in early 2000’s. Many blocks still participate but without the much need support and resources provided by LPPD. Several attempts have been made to revitalize the program. In October 2012, under the leadership of Chief Hawk, the program has once again taken off. Former block captains and neighborhood members are being contacted to see if they will be interested in participating again. LPPD hopes that over a period of time, all blocks in the City of Lincoln Park are represented in the LP NWP.
